Whangārei 2026 Silver Festival
This is an annual festival created by WDC for seniors in the rohe.
Partnering with Chloe from EcoSolutions, Timebank jointly hosted their event which was an opportunity for visitors to join Timebank members for afternoon tea and learn about Timebanking.
The doors of He Awhi Rito were open from 2pm – 4pm on Tues 6th Oct. We had prepared the He Awhi Rito workshop space with chairs and a table for kai by Whakaora Kai and home baking by a kind Timebank member.
People started coming through the door before 2pm and filled the room!
Chloe and Janey shared the floor. She covered recycling, repurposing, upcycling, re-using etc which generated a lot of questions. She also demonstrated how to make your own natural household cleaner. Janey talked about Timebank and demonstrated how to make your own toothpaste.
By combining with EcoSolutions in a social gathering for TTT members, we created a relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
