Kerikeri Repair Cafe - my first experience

Being a big fan of waste reduction, I’d been meaning to go to the Kerikeri Repair Café for a long time. Becoming the new Whangaroa-Kerikeri-BOI Timebank Coordinator gave me the push to actually get there and meet Uta, a timebanker who runs it.

I grabbed some blunt and somewhat rusty gardening tools and my upholstery cleaner that no-longer squirted water despite my best efforts to fix it and headed over.
So nice to meet people who give their time to repair things to save them from landfill. They provide coffee and bikkies, and good vibes, just asking a koha to help fund their work. It’s fun discussing repair techniques too.
They were busy so I left my things with them and collected them next month. Shiny straight sharp secateurs and a working Bissell. Yay!
Next Repair Café is 18 July, 10am to 2pm at 28 Cottle Hill Dr, Kerikeri.
