We're looking for three Local Coordinators within the Far North District Council area.
These posts are based on the FNDC Community Board Wards, however the Te Pēwhairangi (Bay of Islands) role is just for the Paihia, Russell-Ōpua, and Kawakawa-Moerewa wards of the Te Pēwhairangi/Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Ward (shaded red), as the northern part is covered by our Whangaroa-Kerikeri Local Coordinator. Te Hiku is shaded green, and Kaikohe-Hokianga is shaded blue. We do require our Local Coordinators to live in the area that they serve.
All our coordination team are self employed contractors for Te Pokapū Tiaki Taiao O Te Tai Tokerau Trust (more commonly known as Tiaki Taiao), paid on invoice at $30 per hour.
We're looking for people who are:
A keen Timebank participant
Passionate about building community
Good at seeing links and building connections
Great networking skills
Great communicator – written and spoken
Ability to relate to people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities
Excellent organisation skills
Good computer skills
Meticulous record keeper
Flexible and creative
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
We use a number of online tools in order to work as a geographically scattered team, so having regular reliable internet access is essential.
The role's primary focus is enabling members to engage with Timebank and access the help they need to give and receive. Part of this involves creating opportunities for members to get to meet and know each other and connect. The pandemic has left our many of our lives much more insular at a time when the Climate Crisis means we really need stronger resilient communities who through supporting each other day to day are ready to do so in an emergency.
If you think this sounds like you contact us for a full job description (which has been updated, in case you've seen previous ones). As all posts are within FNDC we hope to hold interviews in person in Kaitāia, but can adapt if necessary. Although there is a deadline given we will deal with applications as they come in as all posts need filling asap, so the sooner we hear from you the better!
