Part 1 we will cover the theory of how to plan to convert a lawn, or even part of it, into an edible space. Edible spaces can be beautiful as they include fruit trees, berry bushes and vines as well as vegetable gardens. Even veggie gardens can be interplanted with flowers and shrubs.

Bring a rough drawing of your current garden space including the following:

• Movement of the sun

• Prevailing winds

• Rainfall amounts and seasons

• Terrain or slope
