Are you interested in:

  • learning about what you can eat in the bush and on our coast?

  • trying nutritious wild grown foods?

  • advancing your skills for independence in a disaster/emergency?

If you answered “Yes” to any one of the above, then foraging is something fun you should try!  To find out about edible native and introduced plants and seaweeds that are available locally, join Nicky Jarman on this 3 hour hands-on course.

Meet at Onerahi Food Forest (cnr of Church and Whimp Streets, Onerahi) at 11am on Saturday 11 May 2024.

We will be walking, so please wear sturdy shoes and bring weather appropriate clothing.

The course will cover:

  • where to legally, safely and sustainably forage!

  • plant and seaweed identification for this region!

  • how to prepare and cook the wild foods including handouts with a couple of recipes!
