We're seeking two paid Local Coordinators for 10-12 hours a week within Far North District Council. The primary focus of the role is enabling members to engage with Timebank and access the help they need to give and receive.
Part of this involves creating opportunities for members to get to meet and know each other and connect. The pandemic has left our many of our lives much more insular at a time when the Climate Crisis means we really need stronger resilient communities, who through supporting each other day to day are more ready to do so in an emergency.
Our Local Coordinator rohe are based on the FNDC Community Board Wards, however the Te Pēwhairangi (Bay of Islands) role is just for the Paihia, Russell-Ōpua, and Kawakawa-Moerewa wards of the Te Pēwhairangi/Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Ward (shaded red), as the northern part is covered by our Whangaroa-Kerikeri Local Coordinator. The Kaikohe-Hokianga rohe is shaded blue. We do require our Local Coordinators to live in the area that they serve.
All our coordination team are self employed contractors for Te Pokapū Tiaki Taiao O Te Tai Tokerau Trust (more commonly known as Tiaki Taiao), paid on invoice at $30 per hour.

Great networking skills
Great communicator – written and spoken
Ability to relate to people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities
Excellent organisation skills
Good computer skills
